Modern 21st cake

Bow Tie & Guitar

I was soo excited to finally do another Man's birthday cake!

This cake is for a young man turning 21, who is going to be spoilt rotten by his gorgeous girlfriend this year! I chose to keep the design as modern as possible with a triangular geometric pattern, while trying to keep the colour palette boyish but simple. It just so happened that the picture she sent through was of him wearing a crisp shirt and black bow tie, so I ran with that idea & incorporated into his figurine version. Then my last challenge was creating his acoustic guitar...something that he loves playing!

Dune Gypsie Styled Shoot! :: featured in White Magainze Blog ::

Dune Gypsies

A huge Thank You to White Magazine for featuring the Dune Gypsies shoot that I contributed to recently!

It was so much fun hiking up and down those humongous sand dunes in Cronulla in the middle of icy Winter (I was literally frozen just sitting in the sand & I really felt for the poor barefoot models)...No really, I had a blast watching the shoot come to life and was happy to contribute the ever so trending "naked cake" and mini guest cakes. It was a fantastic collaboration with a talented young team & I hope you enjoy an extended album of the shoot.

Blue Ninjago Cake!

Lego Alert!

Loving this Ninjago cake I made for a lucky boy turning 8! Of course every boy has a favourite Ninjago and the Blue one has proven to be quite popular. All the fondant Lego pieces around the base of the cake are edible and were hand made. I haven't made a Ninjago cake since my very first attempt at using fondant last year!

Last year, I tried making a Ninjago mini cake and cupcake toppers
from fondant packets I bought from Woolworths...
I thought it was a good first attempt considering I had many mishaps along the way.
